Welcome to my blog. Who knows what will wind up on it from time to time.

Wow, I can't believe I have not posted on my blog in ages. So here's what is new, I retired in August 2013 and it has been an exciting few months. Mostly I am a caregiver for my 90 year old mom and that takes up a lot of my time. I have enjoyed not having to be at work at a certain time and although I really miss the job I had, I do not miss the impossible situation that I was in at work. I miss my customers and a few of my co-workers, but still keep in touch with the important ones, including many of my customers.

All in the Family and life.....
I have been trying to find this quote for years and knew it had appeared in the Christian Science Monitor but never could track it down and finally found someone at CSM who did some research for me. Found out it was from an article by Alistair Cooke, fab man! After a bad week and feeling defeated, disrespected, and plain old used up, this made me feel somewhat better. So enjoy....
"Even the prospect of early annihilation should not keep us from making the best of our days on this unhappy planet. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce a baby." Alistair Cooke (via Gloria Bunker Stivic)
