I have been trying to find this quote for years and knew it had appeared in the Christian Science Monitor but never could track it down and finally found someone at CSM who did some research for me. Found out it was from an article by Alistair Cooke, fab man! After a bad week and feeling defeated, disrespected, and plain old used up, this made me feel somewhat better. So enjoy....
